Congratulations to Premier Subaru's own Gary Christiansen for winning the SILVER AWARD for Service Consultant Excellence from Subaru of America for 2008. Gary's award places him in SECOND position out of all of the Service Consultants in the Northeast (over 80 people!). We congratulate Gary, who is a REPEAT WINNER OF THIS AWARD on this wonderful achivement. We are very proud of him!

Today, Premier Subaru held an employee picnic to celebrate the upcoming July 4th holiday! What a great event! All employees brought in something that they, in most cases, made themselves. We also had hotdogs, hamburgers and, of course, Italian sausage. It was a great time. We thank everyone for their participation!

PREMIER SUBARU WILL BE A CERTIFIED DEALER FOR THE CASH FOR CLUNKERS PROGRAM!
PREMIER SUBARU ANNOUNCES THAT WE WILL BE A CERTIFIED DEALER UNDER THE CASH FOR CLUNKERS PROGRAM.
While Cash For Clunkers has been signed into law, the Department of Transportation has another three weeks to formulate the regulations for the law. Please stay tuned as we will be the first to provide you this information as we receive it.
Premier Subaru is also asking that consumers watch out for scams, as already, criminals and some unscrupulous car dealers are using it to dupe consumers. CNN Money reports that some "cash for clunkers" web sites are asking consumers to provide personal information, including names, addresses and social security numbers, so that they can "register" for the program. Other web sites tell car shoppers they will put them in touch with authorized "Cash for Clunkers" dealers in their area. Car dealers will have to register to participate in the program (Premier Subaru is doing so). Currently, the NHTSA hasn't even determined how the registration process will work. There will be NO NEED for consumers to register at all. Once clue that the websites are not real is that they use the name "Cash for Clunkers". That is NOT the real name of the program. The program is known as the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS). NHTSA has set up an official website at www.cars.gov to provide information on the program.

Specifically the Outback 2.5i CVT now exhibits better fuel economy (EPA combined) than such competitors as the Toyota Venza, Volvo XC70, VW Passat, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ford Explorer.
The 2010 Subaru Outback now scores better on EPA fuel economy than the much smaller Suzuki SX-4 AWD and has significantly more power coming from its 170HP 2.5L 4-cylinder Boxer engine.

Travis Pastrana and The Subaru Road Racing Team
It was great to attend the Subaru National Dealer Meeting in Washington, DC this past weekend (June 13, 2009). This was a great meeting since is conincided with the release of the all-new 2010 Subaru Legacy and Outback. Two amazing vehicles. Furthermore, it was great to see Travis Pastrana again. Of course, Travis is exceedingly cool and loves the Subaru product. He also takes the time to sign autographs (I think I have 5 of them now!) and even spoke with one of his largest fans, Stanley Nitkowski (who works for us) on my cell phone.
During the meeting, I also met Joe Aquilante, a professional racer turned team owner, of Phoenix Performance. This road race team has garnered multiple SCCA Club Racing National Titles with the STI platform and is currently campaigning the prestigious Grand American KONI Challenge series in a Street-Tuner-Classed Subaru Legacy 2.5GT Spec B. It was great to meet Joe and his entire team. I enjoyed seeing them race the Subaru at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut. If you have an opportunity, please check them out during this year's racing season.

The New 2010 Subaru Forester Information Has Been Announced!
Subaru of America, Inc., announced pricing on the 2010 Subaru Forester. The newly redesigned Forester - introduced last spring - hit an all-times sales record for the company as it was the right vehicle, at the right time, for people looking to downsize from larger SUVs without giving up valuable cargo room. Among its many accolades, the Forester was named Sport/Utility of the Year by Motor Trend magazine.
As with all Subaru models, the 2010 Forester comes equipped as standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
The 2010 Forester once again blends positive SUV attributes including a high seating point and interior versatility with passenger car comfort, superior handling, fuel efficiency and is available in both 2.5 liter naturally aspirated and 2.5 liter turbocharged models. The naturally aspirated models are available with a manual or automatic transmission. 2.5X and 2.5XT turbocharged models come standard with automatic transmission. The 2009 Subaru Forester today was named to the "Best Family Cars for 2009" list by Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com. The award is the culmination of six months of test-driving and analyzing dozens of vehicles, plus feedback from parents who own and drive the vehicles on a daily basis. As part of a rigorous evaluation, each vehicle was judged on safety, performance, interior, exterior qualities and family-friendly features. Focusing on the Subaru Forester's safety attributes, the article detailing the awards -- which appears in the June 2009 issue of Parents -- highlights the vehicle's standard all-wheel drive and stability control, as well as the Forester's designation as a Top Safety Pick by the Information Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
